Our laboratories are implemented with a wide range of sophisticated equipment that allows us to offer specialized immunoassay services to support development of vaccines and therapeutics.

The ever-growing demand for techniques to decipher humoral, innate, and cell-mediated immunity induced by candidate vaccines and immunotherapies can be met by NEOMED-LABS. Our clinical immunomonitoring laboratories can also deliver highly specialized and customized immunoassay services, to support clinical development of human vaccines and immunotherapeutics. With in-house expertise in molecular immunology and computational biology, NEOMED-LABS endeavours to become a reference “Systems Vaccinology” CRO.

Multiplex Assay for Cytokines and Chemokines

When it is desired to measure multiple cytokines or chemokines in biological samples, the multiplex assay is used as an alternative to ELISA, as it is able to detect multiple markers in a single sample, which saves on the biological sample needed from each patient.


The Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSpot (ELISpot) assay evaluates the response of specific immune cells to a certain stimulus by measuring both the quantitative frequency of positive responding cells, as well as the qualitative characterization of secretion of specific cytokines or other secreted immune molecules by those responding cells. The ELISpot assay is used to monitor the effects that immunotherapies have on antigen-specific immunity of B- and T-cells, as well as the effect on the Th1/Th2 balance.

Flow Cytometry

Our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art flow cytometers. Flow cytometry is capable of providing detailed information on immune cell populations by detecting the expression of specific cell markers. Flow cytometry is also used for intracellular cytokine staining to determine impact on signalling pathways, apoptosis, phagocytic and oxidative burst activity, and also to measure cell proliferation and viability.
